The New York Times said that the American economy isn't going to get any better. The reason: rising gas prices. Recently gas prices have been rising worldwide. Last year Europe had a unstable economy and this year the problem is in the Middle East. Economists think that gas could cost over $100 per barrel soon.
A problem in the Middle East right now is the violence. Libya ,one of the largest oil producers in the world, is having a big revolution. This caused the oil companies to not be able to do anything. If this happens in other Middle Eastern countries, gas prices will skyrocket. Until gas prices go back to normal, Americans are trying to save money.
